Introductions

Hi. I’m Tova.

Was born in 1982 on the shortest day of the year (south of the equator) and 3 weeks late. I’ve tried to be punctual ever since.

I like words and crisp white down comforters, pears and tea.

I write.

Having led a nomadic life thus far, am potentially looking to stake a claim to a small corner of the big apple. Recent transplant from the big smoke. Apologies in advance for future comparisons between the two. It’s unavoidable.

Who are you?

  1. I was born in 1980 and am a big brother to two wonderfully gifted siblings. One waaaaay too smart lil sister who funnily enough was also born in 1982, and another waaaaaaay too smart lil brother who was born in 1988.

That describes me in a nutshell.

  2. Hi! One of my tags is New York. That’s how I found you. I sort of wish you wrote more.

  3. hey there! thanks for stopping by I sort of wish I posted more too. I blame time – or lack thereof. and that whole job/job+freelance on the side thing.

best o’ luck with your children’s lit! (could be c.lit for short if you really want to start off on the right foot…)

  4. Hi Tova,
My name is Ingrid and I stumbled upon your blog because I was looking for an image of an angler fish and the Google search led me here. I couldn’t help reading the story where the picture is depicted and found it really… catching? That, mixed with my amazing ability of procrastination (since I’m supposed to be working on some Flash exercises for which I needed an angler fish image), led me to go through some more of your work on this blog. I read the latest 5 and then went to read the first ones from November 2008. Then I had to stop, because I know I could spend the whole afternoon in here and I really have to do some work today.

Anyway, I was looking for a way of telling you this, so here you are. I think you’re a very good writer. Make of it whatever you like. I’m going to save this link and come back later since I got hooked with your stories. Feel free to write me if you want to.
    Take care and keep writing.

PS.: by the way, I’m from 1979 and not very punctual. I’m the opposite of black and white. Trying to understand human behavior is one of my recurrences, as well as taking random pictures, playing Luxor on my computer and hitting the snooze button in the morning… more than once.

  5. Hi Ingrid – thank you for sharing such encouraging feedback! Always happy to hear from a happy reader :) What are the Flash exercises for?

  6. Hi Tova!
Like Ingrid I came to your blog from a Google Image Search (mine was for a Polar Bear, and it brought me to the polaroid and the angry/hungry debate).

I write for people. So your writing caught my eye, and I enjoyed it.

I also lived overseas for many years, and feel multicultural, or a citizen of the planet, rather than any one nationality.

And I am here writing to you because your blog inspired me to do so, and because I am avoiding resurrecting/redesigning mine after making a silly configuration error that dropped me off the internet entirely. Whoops. Well, it needed revisiting anyway!

And now, back to work for me.

Good luck with your writing, traveling, and luring more unsuspecting people into your web via Google Image Search!
